We Shall Remember Them

For how long shall we remember them – certainly this generation but how about the next and the next

 and the next

and the next

We had a visitor to our ‘restored former WWII GCI Radar Station’  – her poignant poetry gives me the confidence that we shall ALWAYS remember them.

“Remember the fighters,
That gave her lives,
They left behind daughters, sons and wives,
The poppy’s represent the blood they shed,
In trenches and skies we lost the dead,
The survivors too we shall never forget,
To them we owe an enormous debt,
Because of them we are all free.
They brought us peace in our country and liberty,
Remember the fighters.

WRITTEN BY DAISY DYER, AGED 9

GCI RAF Ripperston has now been open to the public for just three weeks – we have had over 200 visitors –  it shall always be open for all – for a few months after September 15th, it will please be by appointment whilst we continue with our improvements – buildings and art gallery. We have been overwhelmed by the interest and encouragement and thank of of you who have visited.
