‘Spirit of Ynyslas’ questions our existence, the ephemeral nature of our lives. The 5000 year old submerged forest, exposed by the winter storms which battered the shores of Cardigan Bay, tells of the lost Kingdom of Cantre’r Gwaelod, a kingdom which disappeared in an instant, flooded by the seas of an incoming storm. Yet the forest remains, shrouded by time beneath the sands of Ynyslas, revealed for just an instant, to tell its tale and awaken the imaginings of our minds.
